Pokkiri Simon is a 2017 Malayalam film directed by Jijo Antony. Sunny Wayneand Prayaga Martin play lead roles in the film. Jacob Gregory, Appani Sarath, Nedumudi Venu, Dilish Pothan, Saiju Kurup, Shammy Thilakan, Baiju. Ashokan, Marshall Tito, Bitto and Thanuja Kartik are also featured in the film. The film is produced by Krishnan Sethukumar under the banner Srivari films. The story, screenplay and dialogue of the film is written by Dr. K. Ampady.The cinematography is by Pappinu.
The film is a very sincere attempt to portray the lives of Vijay fans in Kerala - their selfless love for Ilayathalapathy, their expectations, frustrations, and challenges from family, society and friends and finally their emergence as real heroes in lives. The film is treated as a fun filled entertainer and has been written after lot of interaction with Vijay fans across Kerala. Lot of real life characters and incidents has been cinematically interwoven into the script, which had made it a novel take on the subject.
